Finn named in the Prolific North Top 150 Agencies 2026: the FMCG specialist among the North's best
The North's agency scene has a new definitive ranking, and Finn is on it. Prolific North has published its first ever Top 150 Agencies list, and we're proud to sit at number 116 as the only agency in the ranking built entirely around FMCG brands.
For a 12-person independent team from Leeds, standing alongside agencies many times our size is a big moment. It's also proof of something we've believed for over 20 years: in FMCG, specialism beats scale.
What is the Prolific North Top 150?
For more than a decade, Prolific North has ranked the North's comms, integrated and digital agencies in separate lists. For 2026, those lists have been merged into a single Top 150, compiled by long-standing research partner Mustard and backed by the Alliance of Independent Agencies.
The reasoning is simple: agencies no longer live in discipline silos. Creative, comms, social, digital and retail now overlap, and clients want partners who can join the dots. Together, the 150 agencies on the list turn over around £1.4bn, with more than nine in ten reporting a profit.
Why Finn is the FMCG agency to watch on the list
Most agencies in the Top 150 work across many sectors. Finn doesn't. Every brand we partner with sells through grocery, convenience or foodservice, and that focus shapes everything we do.
Our client list in the 2026 ranking reads like a trip down the supermarket aisle:
- Jus-Rol, where we're lead creative and campaign agency for the UK's best-known ready-made pastry brand
- Fox's Burton's Company, home of some of Britain's favourite biscuits
- Veetee, which appointed us lead creative agency across its rice, noodle, ramen and pasta ranges
- The Compleat Food Group, where we lead social and influencer marketing for Wall's and Pork Farms
- Jason's Sourdough, a challenger bakery brand with real momentum
Recent wins have also brought Very Lazy, Bury Black Pudding, Primula and Kelly Loves into the Finn family. Over the years we've also worked with Asda as part of its brand PR roster, and with names including Findus, Fox's Biscuits, Finsbury Food Group, John West, Essity, Brioche Pasquier and Boost Drinks.
What makes a great FMCG agency?
FMCG marketing has its own rules. A campaign can win awards and still fail if it doesn't help a brand earn space on shelf. That's why our work as an FMCG creative agency is built on three things:
- Category knowledge. We know how ambient, chilled, bakery and frozen categories behave, and how buyers at the major grocers think.
- Integrated thinking. Above-the-line creative, PR, social, influencer and trade communications planned together, not bolted on.
- Commercial creativity. Ideas that are bold enough to get noticed by shoppers and practical enough to support sell-in to retailers.
Whether you're a category leader defending your position or a growth brand looking for your first big listing, the job is the same: build brand love that turns into rate of sale.
The other food and drink agencies in the Top 150
Finn is in good company. A number of agencies across the list count FMCG names among their key clients, including:
- Engage (Leeds, #20), working with Nestlé
- Citypress (Manchester, #22), with clients including Aldi, Arla and Coca-Cola
- LOVE (Manchester, #40), working on premium drinks and ice cream
- CreativeRace (Leeds, #46), with Greggs and Quorn
- Brandon (Manchester, #51), the brand design team behind Jus-Rol's new look
- Live & Breathe (Leeds, #62), Refinery (Manchester, #63) and FPP (Newcastle and Leeds, #64), all with big-name grocery brands on their rosters
- Brazen, Aberfield, Alchemy Media, Principles, Prohibition PR, Rise & Amplify and Mighty & Kin, each with food and drink clients
It's a great sign of how strong the North is for food and drink marketing, and a reminder that brands don't need to head to London to find world-class FMCG talent.
Congratulations to everyone on the list
A big thank you to Prolific North, Mustard and the Alliance of Independent Agencies for putting the ranking together, and congratulations to every agency named, from APS Group at number one all the way through to 150.
Most of all, thank you to our clients. Being recognised in the Top 150 is down to the brands who trust us with their growth plans, and to the Finn team who bring the ideas to life every day.
